Falaes Kidnappers Bag Life Imprisonment

An Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure yesterday sentenced to life imprisonment, seven suspected Fulani herdsmen for kidnapping former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae in 2015.Justice Williams Olamide, in his judgement held that the suspects were guilty of the kidnapping charge brought against them by the Ondo State government.According to him, the recovered ransom, call logs, and identification of the suspects by Chief Falae indicted them of complicity in the crime.Justice Olamide subsequently sentenced them to Olokuta Prison without an option of fine. He however discharged two of them of charges of conspiracy and armed robbery.Reacting to the judgement, counsel to the suspects, Abdulraham Yusuf expressed regrets at the judgement and hinted of its appeal.Also, the director of public Prosecution at the Ondo State Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Adesola Adeyemi-Tuki described the judgement as justice well served.
