Cole Haan just made the most comfortable shoes you can wear to the office

Published by Business Insider on Tue, 11 Apr 2017

The Insider Picks team writes about stuff we think you'll like. Business Insider has affiliate partnerships, so we get a share of the revenue from your purchase. We do our best to keep up with innovative products released by our favorite brands. And the bold design of Cole Haan's new ZERGRAND Stitchlite Wingtip Oxfords immediately caught our eye.Cole Haan's innovative take on oxfords use the same materials as knit sneakers you might be familiar with ' the resulting look of which is quite sharp, perfect for spring, and surprisingly great for business-casual offices. The brandsent us three pairs of the oxfordsto try. You can find our team members' thoughts below, and if you're interested, you can pick up a pair for yourself.Breton Fischetti, senior director, commerce:I'm a huge fan of knitathletic shoes. They're light, breathable, easy to slip on and off because the knit stretches, and best of all, really easy to wash. That last point can't be overstated ' my biggest problem with running shoes is that they are hard to wash and often don't feel the same afterwards. I don't have that problem with my knit ones. When I saw that Cole Haan was moving into the knit-shoe space, I was very interested. These shoes are great for everyday wear, and I could see them doing well as business-travel shoes since they look professional, but are comfortable for walking (or running). I'd bring these as my airplane shoes. I don't think you would want to wear them to a wedding or more formal professional events, but if you work in a business casual industry and want to mix up your footwear, these are really fun shoes.Brandt Ranj, associate commerce editor:For me, Cole Haan's Stitchlite Wingtip Oxfords sit at the perfect place between form and function. They definitely look different than any other shoes I own, and the distinctive woven pattern looks really cool.Their looks would be irrelevant if these shoes were uncomfortable, but thankfully comfort isn't an issue 'in fact, I'd rank these among the most comfortable shoes that I own. There's a literal spring in my step when I wear them, which is something I'm definitely not used to, but something I do enjoy. I'd categorize them as a more casual shoe you could probably pull them of at a nicer event if paired correctly; so if you're looking for shoes that tow that line, you should definitely consider this pair.Tyler Lauletta, commerce reporter:I'd never owned a pair of knit shoes before, and the first thing I noticed is that they are extraordinarily light. I mean light to a point that it was hard for me to believe. It's a bit of an odd shoe to place ' if you go with a darker color, they work well as a comfortable shoe you can wear to the office, butare probably a little too casual for formal events.I got an orange pair, and itimmediately became the boldest shoe in my closet. I paired the oxfordswith a suit jacket for friend's birthday party and Ifelt fantastic. I was light on my feet, able to fully express myself as the mediocre dancer I am. I highly encourage anyone considering a new pair of shoes to get these in a bright color.Cole Haan's ZERGRAND Stitchlite Wingtip Oxford sells for $180and comes in five great colors.DON'T MISS:I tried a shaving kit from grooming startup Harry's, and it's perfect for guys who like to keep it simpleSEE ALSO:5 new dress shoe companies every guy should knowREAD MORE:I tested what might be the perfect spring jacketJoin the conversation about this story
