IPL Results 2017: Scores, Points Table and Fixtures After Latest T20 Action

Published by Bleacher Report on Sun, 16 Apr 2017

Delhi Daredevils took care of Kings XI Punjab on Saturday, racking up 188 runs in their innings on their way to a dominant 51-run win in the 2017 Indian Premier League.Sam Billings stole the show while scoring 55 from 40, and by the time the hosts were finished batting, they'd given Punjab a mountain to climb, per cricket writer Freddie Wilde:Kings XI didn't even come close, with only Axar Patel scoring more than 24 runs. Here's a look at the latest IPL standings:The schedule for the coming days:Delhi Daredevils vs. Kings XI PunjabDelhi, 188 for six (Billings 55, Anderson 39) beat Punjab, 137 for nine (Patel 44, Miller 24) by 51 runs.Kings XI's bowlers held up well during the early overs of the first innings, but the hosts' top foreign stars took control of the back half to set a lofty target of 189. Billings stole the headlines, while Corey Anderson chipped in 39 unbeaten, and Chris Morris added a quick 16 runs from just eight deliveries. With an average of 9.40 runs per over, the innings was a very productive one for Delhi, whose bowlers usually excel at limiting boundaries at home.Quick dismissals of Manan Vohra and Wriddhiman Saha didn't help the chase, especially given Punjab's lack of multiple explosive batsmen. When David Miller was dismissed with figures of 24 from 28, Wilde pretty much assumed the match was over:Patel did well to add 44 runs to the total, but by that time, the chase already seemed hopeless. Chris Morris did most of the damage for the home bowlers, taking three wickets and surrendering 23 runs in four overs. Shahbaz Nadeem needed just two overs to grab two wickets of his own.The win moves Delhi into a tie for third place, but the Daredevils have a match in hand on their main competitors and have only played at home once so far.
