Oba Of Benin, APC Chieftain Hail Obaseki Over Tribunal Verdict

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, weekend, congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki over the Edo tribunal governorship election verdict which affirmed Obaseki as the duly elected governor in the September 28th, 2016 governorship election.The monarchs congratulatory message is coming just as the All Progressive Congress (APC), chieftain in Ugbegun, Esan central local government area; Comrade Mathew Emiohe said the victory was a clear sign that the APC is the only party for the Edo people.The Benin monarch added that tribunal affirmation came at a time the services of Governor Obaseki was needed most, especially in the sanitation of the society, provision of jobs for the teeming unemployed youths as well as infrastructural provision.He, however, noted that in an election, there was no victor, no vanquished and called on the PDP candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to accept the decision of the tribunal in good fate.Emiohe added: The Judgment was expected because the election was free and fair. It represents strength and something positive for our party.My advice is for the governor to get all appointments completed and continue with the good work he has already started now that what appears like a distraction has been settled by the outcome of the tribunal.
