Andrew Luck Says He Made Call on Shoulder Surgery, Has No Timetable for Recovery

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck said the surgical procedure he underwent on his right shoulder in January was his decision rather than the team's, the Indianapolis Star's Zak Keefer reported Monday.Luck added that he's unsure at this point when he'll be healthy enough to return to the field and will defer to his doctors' judgment, per Keefer.The three-time Pro Bowler told reporters the surgery addressed theshoulder injuryhe suffered all the way back in Indianapolis' win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3 of the 2015 season, according to theIndianapolis Star'sStephen Holder. Luck also dealt with alacerated kidneythat year, which limited him to seven games.Monday's reveal makes Luck's 2016 performance all the more impressive in retrospect. He threw for 4,240 yards, 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions despite dealing with problems in his throwing arm.Considering how long the shoulder has bugged Luck, taking every precaution and not putting a timetable on his recovery is the sensible approach.
