Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman Announced for WWE Payback 2017

The heated rivalry between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman is set to return to the pay-per-view stage, as Raw general manager Kurt Angle announced Mondaythat they will clash at Payback.WWE shared a replay of Angle's announcement:Reigns and Strowman feuded leading up to WrestleMania 33, but the Big Dog shifted his focus to The Undertaker, whom he defeated and presumably retired in the process.Just two weeks after that historic victory, however, the Monster Among Men made a massive statement at Reigns' expense.During an interview with Michael Cole, Reigns was jumped by Strowman to the point that he had to be wheeled away on a stretcher.Strowman wasn't done there, as he then proceeded to push the stretcher off a loading dock, resulting in Reigns getting moved to an ambulance.Once in the ambulance, Reigns was once again attacked by Strowman, who placed an exclamation point on the beat-down by turning over the ambulance.Strowman was so brutal that an online petition was started to get him fired, which led to him taunting his detractors on Twitter:The night after WrestleMania 33, Universal champion Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman cut a promo suggesting another battle with Reigns was likely on the horizon.They were interrupted by Strowman, though, who said he was coming for Lesnar and the title after settling his issues with Reigns.Due to that interaction, it is possible the Payback match between Reigns and Strowman will act as a de facto No. 1 contendership match with the winner going on to meet Lesnar.Regardless of the next step, there is a great deal of bad blood between Reigns and Strowman, which should make for a combustible bout.Listen toRing Rust Radiofor all of the hot wrestling topics.
