Oklahoma State Gets '11-2' Engraved on Rings, Ignores Central Michigan Loss

The official record books may have the 2016 Oklahoma State Cowboys' record as 10-3, but don't tell that to head coach Mike Gundy.Per ESPN's Mitch Sherman, Gundy had 11-2 engraved on Oklahoma State's commemorative Alamo Bowl rings, refusing to acknowledge the controversial Week 2 loss against Central Michigan.Gundy's son Gavin Gundy tweeted out an image of the specially-made rings:Central Michigan defeated Oklahoma State, 30-27, on September 30 thanks to a Hail Mary pass from quarterback Cooper Rush to Corey Willis and lateraled to Jesse Kroll for the game-winning touchdown with no time left.The play shouldn't have counted because officials mistakenly gave the Chippewas an untimed down after Oklahoma State quarterbackMason Rudolph was called for intentional grounding on fourth down as the Cowboys tried to run out the clock.Rules dictate that since there was an offensive penalty against Oklahoma State on the play, Central Michigan should not have been awarded an extra play.The Big-12 and Mid-American conferencessuspendedthe officiating and replay crews who called the game for two games.Oklahoma State officially finished the season with 10 wins, defeating Colorado in the Alamo Bowl.
