A truck overturned in China spreading 1.5 tonnes of fish across the motorway

A truckload of fish covered a motorway in east China's Anhui Province, after a truck overturned when its driver became distracted by a phone call.Over 1.5 tonnes fish were scattered across dozens of metres on the Chuzhou section of the Jingtai expressway following the accident on April 15.The driver and another passenger in the truck sustained no injuries in the crash.Traffic police arrived at the site and directed traffic to avoid further accidents, with much of the road blocked off with shoals of fish spread all over the road.The driver was transporting the fish from Hefei, the capital city of Anhui, to Bengbu, a city in the north of the province, and said the accident occurred after he took a phone call, with the rainy weather and slippery road conditions playing a part.The police organised for volunteers to help gather the fish and clear the road, before righting the overturned truck and removing it from the expressway.Traffic flow returned to normal two hours after the incident.Produced by Claudia RomeoJoin the conversation about this story
