Legendary car designer Henrik Fisker will unveil his Tesla rival in August

Legendary car designer Henrik Fisker said his long-range, electric car will be revealed on August 17.Dubbed the Fisker EMotion, that car will be able to drive for 400 miles on a single charge, Fisker said. It willalso have a top speed of 161 mph and will be produced as part of Fisker's newly minted auto company, Fisker Inc.Fisker EMotion: Coming soon in Aug 17, with a 400 + EV range. VLF Automotive is an auto company Fisker joined in January that is producing his supercar, the Force 1.He has also saidthat the electric car will fall in the same price as a high-end Tesla Model S.Fisker told Business Insider thathe is planning to use new battery technology being developed by his battery division, Fisker Nanotech, to achievea 400-mile range. Fisker said the cars will use graphene supercapacitors instead of traditional lithium ion batteries.The car will pave the way for a more consumer-friendly electric car that Fisker claims will be cheaper than the Chevy Bolt and Tesla Model 3, which are priced from $36,200 and $35,000 before federal tax exemptions, respectively.He said the trapezoid frame on the front of the car will hold a radar and camera to"provide future autonomous capability."Fisker said he is teaming with a supplier to develop the self-driving tech, buthas yet to name a supplier.Fisker is currently producing his supercar, the Force 1 , through VLF Automotive. He is best known as the automotive designer behind iconic cars like the BMW Z8 and the Aston Martin DB9.Fisker was the force behind a luxury hybrid called the Karma.
