Myles Garrett Says 'Big Things' Are Coming for Browns, Talks Being Drafted No. 1

Published by Bleacher Report on Fri, 28 Apr 2017

Myles Garrett has only been a member of the Cleveland Browns for a few hours, and he's already looking forward to what the team can accomplish in 2017.Garrett discussed his excitement after the Browns selected him first overall in the NFL draft, per ESPN.com's Pat McManamon:They picked me because they think they see something in me, and they know that I can help them rebuild and turn this program around. That's the mindset that we have to have. Starting next year, we can put the pieces together, not only the players but with a mindset that we can actually do this. I know that the players there have that same mindset. I am going to keep that feeling contagious. I'm just prepared for that.Garrett added that "big things are coming."Garrett was the consensus No. 1 player available, but some wondered if the Browns' unpredictable draft history would result in somebody else going first overall.Bleacher Report'sMike Taniergave Cleveland an "A" grade for taking Garrett. The Browns also added safety Jabrill Peppers and tight end David Njoku in the first round, and they have seven more picks through the next five rounds to further bolster their roster. NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano praised Cleveland for a strong Day 1:Browns fans have been burned too many times on draft day to get overly excited about Garrett, Peppers and Njoku. The franchise has had a number of seemingly strong drafts fizzle out and deliver little on the field. The 2017 draft could defy that trend.
