Stocks in Europe had another great day on the final trading day before the French election

Stocks across Europe ended the week strongly on Friday on the final day of trading before Sunday's crucial French presidential election second round. All of the continent's major bourses ended the day higher, with France's CAC 40 gaining more than 1.1%, making it the biggest winner of the three core bourses. Elsewhere, Germany's DAX picked up by 0.57%, while Britain's FTSE 100 ended 0.62% up. In more peripheral indexes, Spain's IBEX closed 1.07% higher, while Italy's FTSE MIB was 1.61% up.Join the conversation about this story
