Knicks Reportedly Discussed Kristaps Porzingis Trade with Phoenix Suns

The New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns have reportedly discussed a trade centered around Kristaps Porzingis in advance of Thursday's NBA draft.Citing sources, ESPN.com's Ian Begley reported the Knicks and Suns have "had recent conversations" about a deal that would send Porzingis to Phoenix, with the No. 4 pick going back to New York. Sources also told Begley certain "iterations" of the talks have included 2016 lottery picks Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss packaged alongside the fourth pick.On Wednesday, The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Knicks were attempting to deal for a top-four pick to select former Kansas Jayhawks swingman Josh Jackson.News of the talks comes just after Knicks president Phil Jackson sat down with MSG Network and confirmed a report from Wojnarowski that the team was considering parting ways with the 21-year-old."We're getting calls," Jackson said, per Begley. "As much as we value Kristaps and what he's done for us, when a guy doesn't show up for an exit meeting, everybody starts speculating on the duration or movability from a club."In addition to the Suns, Begley reported the Knicks have "had talks" with the other four teams poised to draft in the top five Thursday night. That group includes the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings.The Knicks also reportedly spoke to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but sources told Begley the talks didn't gain much traction since the Thunder "don't have enough" to offer the Knicks.
