Will Big Cass Continue Feud with Enzo Amore or Pivot to Big Show on WWE Raw

Published by Bleacher Report on Thu, 13 Jul 2017

There wasn't a shadow of a doubt in the minds of WWE fans that Big Cass was the superior athlete over Enzo Amore in their one-sided affair at Great Balls of Fire 2017, but has their ruthless rivalry already come to an end in favor of a feud between Big Show and Cass'Less than 24 hours removed from his dominant victory versus Enzo on Sunday night, Cass boasted about his win at the start of Raw, claiming to be the best big man in all of WWE. After cutting one of his more impressive promos in recent memory, Cass was confronted by Big Show, who proceeded to toss the New York native all around the ring.We didn't hear from either man in the remainder of the evening, but what was more interesting was that Enzo was nowhere to be seen. He could have simply been selling the beatdown he suffered the night prior at the hands of his former friend, or he could be out "injured" longer than we think.Early speculation among fans coming out of Raw is that Cass and Show are set to do battle at next month's SummerSlam event. If that is indeed the plan, and of course that has yet to be confirmed by any reputable source, then what would become of Cass' recent rivalry with Enzo'The two have exceeded expectations with their work on the microphone up to this point, and with the program gradually getting great, it can be argued that it would be premature to pull the plug on it right now. Before Cass revealed himself as Enzo's attacker, he blamed Big Show, forcing The World's Largest Athlete to walk out on Raw when Kurt Angle accused him as well. It wasn't until this past week that he finally resurfaced and took the fight to Cass, planting the seeds for a future face-off.Of course, there is plenty of time between now and SummerSlam, so it is entirely possible WWE revisits the rivalry between Enzo and Cass in the coming weeks. Then again, there is no need for a rematch considering Cass emerged victorious in decisive fashion at Great Balls of Fire. There were mixed opinions on the match with some believing that it was underwhelming at only five minutes long and others thinking it was exactly what it needed to be. Their tag team matches were rarely anything special from an in-ring standpoint, so it's unlikely they're capable of contesting a mat classic, anyway. Thus, it's for the best that they don't have any more matches against each other. Cass shouldn't be losing to someone as small as Enzo at this point in time, and another loss to Cass would do further damage to Enzo.Big Show, on the other hand, is the perfect opponent for Cass at the moment heading into SummerSlam to ensure Cass is cemented as a star on the rise on Raw.A number of years ago, the idea of a Big Show in a prominent program on the flagship show would have been nauseating, especially against someone he has history with, such as John Cena, Randy Orton, Mark Henry or Kane. However, his role on Raw lately has been largely curtailed, and therefore his occasional appearances feel more special. It is apparent that Show is adamant about getting over the talent of tomorrow since he is aware his days as an active competitor are numbered. He successfully made Braun Strowman out to look like a monster heel in their pair of matches earlier this year, and Cass should be no different. The Cass vs. Enzo feud was fairly short-lived, but the New Age Outlaws' split was similarly executed back in the day, so their modern-day equivalents should follow that formula. With SummerSlam being WWE's biggest party of the summer, a Cass vs. Enzo rematch would be buried in the undercard, whereas Cass vs. Show could be much more of an attraction.Enzo could serve as Show's mouthpiece going forward, but it's almost unnecessary seeing as how Show can take care of business on own, as seen on Monday's Raw. That would leave Enzo to flounder, unfortunately, before joining the Cruiserweight division and possibly finding success there.Cass would merely be treading water in a continuation of his rivalry with Enzo, whereas this newfound feud with Show could see him get one step close to Raw's star-studded main event scene when all is said and done.
