#EndSARS Campaign Promises To Provide Evidence Of SARS' Brutality To Senate

#EndSARS rally in AbujaThe #EndSARS Campaign, a coalition of civil society groups involved in the clamor for a reform of the Nigeria Police Force and scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), have promised to furnish the Senate with petitions and testimonies of the victims of SARS' brutality and those of their relatives during the ad hoc Public Hearing on SARS before the Senate.The coalition's position was made known by its lawyers, the Public Interest Lawyers League (PILL), in a letter to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki. Dated December 13 and signed by PILL President Abdul Mahmud, the letter expressed the willingness of the #EndSARS campaign to participate in the scheduled public hearing on the gross human rights abuses perpetrated by operatives of SARS.'Following the massive citizens' push, the 8thSenate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, under your distinguished leadership, mandated the Committee on Security to convene a formal ad hoc public hearing on the human rights abuses of citizens by officer of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad for which our client hereby expresses its utmost and sincere gratitude to you and the entire 8thSenate.'Further to the above, we humbly wish to inform you of the desire of our client to participate in the ad hoc Public Hearing on SARS at the said ad hoc public hearing.
