Hue Jackson Thinks It's a 'Fair Question' If DeShone Kizer 'Will Ever Get It

Published by Bleacher Report on Mon, 18 Dec 2017

Cleveland Browns rookieDeShone Kizer still hasn't proved he can be an NFL starting quarterback, and his coach is apparently waiting to see more."He has some work to do," Hue Jackson said after Sunday's game, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. "I think that's a fair question if he'll ever get it. I think he will, but he has to keep working."Kizer threw two interceptions in the 27-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravensat FirstEnergy Stadium, as the Brownsfell to 0-14.The second-round pick has 19 interceptions in 13 starts and nine touchdown passes. There have been bright flashes, especially when he's used his legs to rush for 350 yards and five touchdowns overall. Unfortunately, mistakes and a poor team around him have overshadowed those moments. When an organization goes winless, no one is safe from criticism, least of all the starting quarterback. With the Browns slated to draft No. 1 and No. 4 overall, per Bleacher Report'sMatt Miller, the chances are seemingly high the team will take a long look at another young quarterback.Still, Kizer hasn't wavered in his confidence despite his struggles."With the abilities that I have, I know that if I can go out there and continue to get better and perfect the craft that I have, there shouldn't be a worry out there," he said this week, perCabot. "There's nothing I can't do if I put my mind to it and continue to work on it."Without a vote of confidence from his coach, though, Kizer has plenty of question marks surrounding his future.
