Protests rock Makurdi, vehicles smashed

Barely three days after 73 of their kinsmen were slain by herdsmen were driven round major roads in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, residents of the state yesterday took the streets to protest the killings, and called on the Federal Government to rise to its constitutional duties of protection of lives and property. The residents, dressed in mourning clothes went round the streets but were prevented by security agencies to prevent breakdown of law and order.
