The top-seeded Virginia Cavaliers (28-2) are the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation heading into this week's ACC tournament, riding a five-game winning streak and winning 20 of 21 games going back to mid-December.However, that has not stopped sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark from pegging the second-seeded Duke Blue Devils (25-6) as the favorites on the 2018 ACC tournament odds at +200 (bet $100 to win $200).The fifth-ranked Blue Devils have won six of their last seven games since dropping three of four, including a 65-63 home loss to the Cavaliers as 3.5-point favorites on January 27. Duke's statement victory, though, may have come in the regular-season finale against the 12th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels (22-9) last Saturday night, overcoming a 13-point deficit to win 74-64 and cover as 7.5-point home favorites on the college basketball lines. However, Virginia posted a remarkable 17-1 record in ACC play during the regular season to win the conference's regular-season title by four games. But the main concern for the Cavaliers is the health of leading scorer Kyle Guy, who is dealing with a knee injury. Virginia is listed as the +250 second choice to win the ACC tournament.Following the Blue Devils and Cavaliers on the betting board are the defending champion Tar Heels, who won both the conference tournament and NCAA tournament titles a year ago.North Carolina still has some solid experience led by senior guard Joel Berry II and junior forward Luke Maye, who hope to earn a repeat championship in Brooklyn as the +700 third choice and sixth seed in the field behind the third-seeded Miami Hurricanes (22-8), fourth-seeded Clemson Tigers (22-8) and fifth-seeded North Carolina State Wolfpack (21-10). All of them went 11-7 in ACC games this season.Of that remaining group, the Hurricanes are the +1000 fourth choice to win the conference tournament followed by the Tigers (+1200) and Wolfpack (+1400). Another school to watch is the seventh-seeded Virginia Tech Hokies (21-10) at +1200, as they remain the only team in the league to defeat Virginia and also own a win over Duke. The Hokies finished at 10-8 in the ACC, the last team with a winning conference mark.
