Good morning! Here's what you need to know in markets on Tuesday.1. The CEO of Cambridge Analytica, the political-research company at the centre of a massive Facebook-data scandal, has been secretly filmed offering shadowy services to entrap politicians. The bombshell footage, broadcast Monday as part of an investigation by Channel 4 News, comes days after Facebook suspended Cambridge Analytica over an incident involving its harvesting of data from 50 million profiles.2. Britain's information commissioner told Channel 4 News that she plans to apply for a warrant to raid the offices of Cambridge Analytica and seize its servers. CA was contracted by Donald Trump's presidential campaign, and the Brexit Leave campaign, in 2016.3. Alex Stamos, Facebook's chief information security officer, plans to leave the company in August as it grapples with a storm of controversies relating to its role in spreading misinformation, according to a report in the New York Times on Monday. Stamos favoured being more transparent with the public about how the 2-billion member social network was misused to spread propaganda during the 2016 presidential election, according to the report which cites anonymous sources familiar with the matter.4. Stocks fell around the world as technology shares dropped, led lower by a report of a data breach that sent Facebook sliding the most it has in 2 1/2 years. Facebook's loss of as much as 8.1% spurred a decline of 1.8% in the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 index, while the benchmark S&P 500 slid 1.4% and the Dow Jones industrial average decreased by 1.4% or more than 300 points.5. Asian shares fell on Tuesday as investors dumped high-flying US technology shares on fears of stiffer regulation. Japan's Nikkei closed down 0.60%, the Hong Kong Hang Seng is down 0.05% at the time of writing (6.30 a.m. GMT/2.30 a.m. ET), but China's Shanghai Composite is up 0.35%.6. The Trump administration is expected to unveil up to $60 billion (42.7 billion) in new tariffs on Chinese imports by Friday, targeting technology, telecommunications and intellectual property, two officials briefed on the matter said Monday. One business source, who has discussed the issue with the administration, said that the China tariffs may be subject to a public comment period, which would delay their effective date and allow industry groups and companies to lodge objections.7. Inflation data is coming.UK price data for February will be published a 9.30 a.m. GMT (5.30 a.m. ET) by the Office for National Statistics and economists are expecting core inflation to fall from 3% to 2.8%.8. The CEO of market data company IHS Markit says his business remains committed to the UK despite Brexit, and he believes the country remains a good location for startups. Lance Uggla told Business Insider: "Regardless of Brexit, well be here running our company. I dont see any barriers to us offering our services globally."9. Uber is "likely" not at fault in a first-of-its-kind fatal self-driving car crash on Sunday in Tempe, Arizona, the local police chief has said. On Sunday night, one of the transportation company's vehicles operating in autonomous mode hit and killed Elaine Herzberg, 49, in what is believed to be the first time a self-driving vehicle has killed a pedestrian.10. Cheddar, the self-described "post cable" financial news startup sometimes called "CNBC for millennials," has just raised $22 million (15.6 million), bringing its valuation to $160 million (113.9 million), according to the Wall Street Journal.
