A Senate Of Fools, Blockheads, Ignoramuses, And Idiots By Bayo Oluwasanmi

Published by Sahara Reporters on Fri, 20 Apr 2018

Senator Ovie Omo-AgegeNigerian Senate is a senate of fools, blockheads, ignoramuses, and idiots. The invasion of the Senate Chamber by Senator Ovie Omo AgegeWednesdaywas yet another proof that these senators are not honorable, decent, responsible, and civilized. We all know the story of the bolekaja fracas between Omo Agege and the rest senators. There's no need retelling the horror story. Nonetheless, a comment or two will suffice to illustrate the regular barbaric acts of the senators. Frankly, there's something very wrong with us as a nation and as people. The senators have sold their souls to the devil. The senators have never learned anything all these years. We're taken for a ride, a wild dangerous and reckless ride by our not so honorable senators.Albert Camus yearned for a country that an honorable man could love and love justice too. Majority of Nigerians are convinced that Nigeria is not such a country courtesy of Senate of Fools. There's a widespread disillusionment among Nigerians about Nigeria. These are times of dramatic conflict between the forces of good and evil. All who are not lunatics are agreed about certain things: that it is better to be alive than dead. Better to be adequately fed than starved. Better to be free than a slave. Selfish people like the Nigerian senators desire those things only for themselves, their families, and their friends. They are greedily content that others should suffer. The competition of crass buffoonery in the 'hallowed chamber' of money changers depicts a theater-cruelty style that is unmatched throughout our history of representative democracy. It is unduly fastidious and punitively grinding to attempt to abbreviate the extent of the lunacy of the lawmakers. These brazen-faced senators only specialized in coordinating looting spree. Their political pendulums oscillate between romantic illusions about blindness and cruelty. Their attitudes, utterances, and actions of these intellectually and culturally sterile lawmakers must be rebuffed and rejected by all Nigerians. No sane Nigerian expects anything better from the loosely controlled criminals and ex-convicts. They have been neutered by greed, fraud, and corruption.Of what use are the legislators' When was the last time the senators took inventory of services to their constituency' When was the last time they felt the pulse and pain of their home base' What bills or proposals that benefit their constituents have been initiated to restocking the shelves for their constituents needs' Then, one wonders what the hell are the fools in the Senate doing'Like wild monkeys, the poor Nigerians they represent spend their time looking for food, searching even in the desert for food for their children. All night, their constituents lie naked in the cold without clothing or covering. They are soaked by showers and they huddle against the rocks for want of a home. They harvest food for the senators while the poor themselves are starving. The groans of the dying rise from the city and the wounded cry for help. Yet, the senators ignore their moaning. They're not moved. They are not bothered.Foronce, can the senators apply some wisdom if they have any and just do something right for the people they claim they represent'bjoluwasanmi@gmail.comSenator Ovie Omo-AgegeOpinionAddThis:Original Author: Bayo OluwasanmiDisable advertisements:
