Benue Crisis: APC Urges FG to Facilitate Return of Displaced People

The Benue Chapter of the APC has called on the Federal Government to facilitate the immediate return of displaced people to their ancestral homes in the state.The Interim Chairman of APC in the state, Mr Targema Takema, made the call at a news conference in Abuja on Monday on the security situation in the state.Regrettably, the enthusiasm of our people to participate in the party congresses scheduled for April 5 and 12 respectively is being seriously threatened and may be altogether scuttled by the current crisis."He advised leaders of the party to mobilise relief materials to the affected communitiesto alleviate their sufferings."In these communities, social and business activities have been negatively affected by the crisis," Takema said.According to him, most of the communities in the state are either under direct attack or are literally on the run for fear of being the next target.The interim chairman appealed to the security agencies in the country to be proactive to restore peace and harmony in the volatile states.
