Kidnapped Bauchi Businessman Regains Freedom

The Bauchi State Police Commandon Saturdayrevealed that a businessman kidnapped in the state,Manu Soro, had regained his freedom from his abductors.The commands Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed this in a text messagehe sent to newsmen in Bauchi.The spokesperson said Mr. Soro was released by his captors at about 7 a.m. on Saturday.Information at our disposal has revealed that the kidnapped businessman, Alhaji Manu Soro,has been released at 0700hrson Saturday.Investigation is still in progress to find out whom the captors are and the circumstance that led to the kidnapping, he said.The police did not confirm if any ransom was paid to free the victim.Mr. Soro was kidnapped by unknown gunmen about two weeks ago in his home town of Soroin Darazo Local Government Area.He was the sixth person kidnapped recently in the state.Four were kidnapped in Darazo Town and one in Toro Local Government Area.All the persons kidnapped were later set free.
