Eminent Nigerians attend Mimiko's wife's mother's burial

EMINENT Nigerians, on Friday converged on Ondo town, Ondo State, for the burial of Mrs Felicia Modupe Adeniyi, mother of the wife of Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Olukemi.At the the funeral service, held at St. Stephen's Cathedral, Oke-Aluko, Ondo, the Bishop of Ondo Diocese and Archbishop of Ondo Ecclesiastical Pronvince, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Reverend Latunji Lasebikan, in a sermon, stressed the need for everyone to make the best of life for the fulfilment of God's plans for them.Dignitaries at the ceremony included the governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada; his counterpart from Plateau State, Jonah Jang; Chief of Staff to the President, Brigadier-General Deinde Arogbofa; Minister of Communication Technology, Omobola Johnson; a former governor of Ondo State, Bamidele Olumilua; former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State; a former National President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief Wole Olanipekun; renowned businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, among others.Lasebikan described the deceased as a devout Christian and community leader that is worthy of emulation.According to him, Mrs Mimiko's mother lived a rewarding and fulfilled life, and therefore, her death should be celebrated.He said Mrs Adeniyi was a teacher, singer and a social person, whose footprints would remain indelible in the society.The cleric noted that the presence of personalities from different walks of life at the ceremony was a testimony to the kind of person the deceased was.Lamenting the current security challenges in the country, he stressed the need for people to move close to God in order to overcome death.The religious leader admonished Christians to refrain from sin and move closer to God as lfe is a temporary home for mankind.He prayed for the repose of the Mrs Adeniyi's soul and asked God to give the husband, children, family members, as well as the entire people of Ondo town the fortitude to bear the loss.
