Al-Qur'an, the ultimate miracle

Published by Tribune on Tue, 27 Sep 2011

Al-qur'an is a divine message from Almighty Allah to the world through a divine messenger, Prophet Mohammed. In another view, it is a constitutional document given to man in which rules, regulations and conformities of the universe are administered. Qur'an. 3 verse 7 says:'It is He who has sent down to you (Mohammed) the book, in it are verses that are entirely clear, they are the foundations of Al Ahkam (commandments), Al-Faraid (obligatory duties) and Al- Hudud (legal laws) for the punishment of atrocities.)Apparently, Qur'an is a book of incomparable prose; it is quite different from all types of books, messages, texts or literatures. Suffice to say the messages compositions and arrangements are quite automatic and incomparable. Qur'an 46 verse 4, says: 'O Muhammad (p.b.o.h) to thee pagans, think you about all that you invoke besides Allah' Show me, what have they created of the earth' Or have they share (in the creation of) the heavens' Bring me a book (revealed by this).'It is no doubt that Qur'an stipulates the biography of its Supreme author and His kingdom; the history of the legend; creation of the heavens and earth and so on.However, it was sent down to explain the ambiguities in the world and as guardian to mankind. Qur'an 16 verse 64 says, 'And We have not sent down the book (Qur'an) to you O Muhammad (p.b.o.h) except that you may explain clearly unto them those things in which they differs and (as) a guidance and mercy for a folk who believe'.'Obviously, it is a message sent through a man who was unlettered but miraculously, the message was delivered. Qur'an 96 verse 1-5; the revelation says 'Read! In the name of your Lord who has created (all that exists). He has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 'Read! And your lord is the most Generous. Who has thought (the writing) by the pen. He has thought man which he knows not' Qur'an 42 verse 51-52.The miraculous nature of the book can also be seen in the life of Prophet Mohammed (p.b.o.h), whom through the message was sent. He was an illiterate; conversely, he gave a verbal description of man and its formation in the womb before the advent of any scientist. Qur'an 23 verse 12-14 says 'And indeed We created man (Adam) out of clay (water and earth). Thereafter, We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a 'Natfah' (mixed drop of male and female sexual discharge and lodge it) in a safe lodging (womb of a woman). Then We made the 'Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed is Allah the best of creators.' However, this was revealed many years before the scientist (biologist) discovered the process of creation of man in the womb. There is also the Mi'raj (a spiritual migration of holy prophet Muhammad to the heaven). Prophet Mohammed's migration to the throne of the Almighty Allah was a mirage, an illusion to the unbelievers. Qur'an 17 verse 60 says ''''And We made not the vision which We show you (O Muhammad) as a actual eye witness and not as a dream on the night of Al-Isra but a trial for mankind'..' The journey was indeed led by the king of angels himself, Angel Jibril. Actually, Prophet Mohammed met Allah in his kingdom just as prophet Issa did migrate and escape being crucified contrary to the believes of many people today. Therefore, it is never an overstatement to say that our Prophet Mohammed (p.b.o.h), who brought the message was a great scientist, historian, a philosopher and perhaps a professor before any mankind on the earth.Furthermore, Prophet Muhammad gave vivid descriptions of mansions, houses of various types and categories in the life beyond in which there will be comfort for the true believers, that is after death. Hence, they will live in the garden underneath which water flows as in Qur'an 98 verse 7-8. 'Verily, those who believe in the oneness of Allah, and His messenger Muhammad (p.b.o.h), including all obligations of Islam and do the righteous good deeds. They are the best of creatures. Their reward with their lord is (Eden) paradise (garden of eternity) underneath which rivers flows. They will abide therein for ever.' Similar quotations are found in many chapters of the Quran. Moreover, among the authenticity of the miracle of the holy Qur'an was the talented retentive memory given to Prophet Muhammad (p.b.o.h) and which has never been given to any man on earth. When message comes (to who never knew how to read and write); he was taught 'by Allah' to understand, memorise and relate them to his disciples without adding or removing a word. Qur'an 15 verse 9 says 'Verily, it is We who have sent down the Dhikr (Qur'an) and surely, We will guard it from (corruption)'When relating the message to the scribes, his mind was never troubled by passions and hardships. He never allowed any reason to govern his life when receiving and relating messages to the scribes. This indeed makes the compilation of the holy Quran a miracle. See Qur'an 43 verse 3. 'Verily we have made it 'Alquran' in Arabic that you may be able to understand its meanings and its admonitions'More so, Allah who is the author of the book gave a practical illustration to convince beyond reasonable doubt the unbelievers and perhaps the people of the book who have no reason to justify their unfortunate disbelief in the Quran: Allah always expresses the authenticity of the book in various ways. See Qur'an 98 verse 1-6 (Suratul Bayinna). 'Those who disbelieve among the people of the scripture (Jews and the Xtians) and the pagans were not going to leave their disbelief until there came to them clear evidence.'Among these illustrations is the one in Qur'an 2 verse 154 which says 'And say not of those who die in the cause of Allah. 'They are dead' nay, they are living but you perceive (it) not.'Al-Hikmor Awareness, a newspaper published by MSS Unilag branch, reported on its vol. 2 no. 5 edition of Muharram 1412, July/August 1991, a case of a Muslim corps at Ijebu-Ode found intact five years after burial. There was another case reported by late Chief Imam of Ibadan, a Muslim who died and buried in 1978 and which the body was found fresh in the grave after many years of burial. Another was Algerian corps whose body was seen intact after thirty years of burial. In the recent (August 2011) flooding in Ibadan at Ile- Alaadorin- Kudeti, one late Lasisi Suberu, a goldsmith and a Muslim in his days, died and was buried since 1998.Incidentally, the body was exhumed by the flood and remains fresh and intact.Qur'an 3 verse 9 says 'Our Lord! Verily it is you who will gather mankind together on the day about which there is no doubt verily, Allah never breaks His promise'Convincingly, the composition of the messages, arrangement of chapters and verses were so perfect that no book on earth has ever and shall never stand before or beside the glorious Qur'an. The book of majesty, book of incomparable honour and no doubt the only constitutional book that will be used to govern on the Day of Judgment. See Qur'an 2 verse 1-4.Today Al-qur'an remains the only book among the scriptures that has not and never been tampered with by any individual or group of person for any selfish aim. It remains authentic as it was revealed over a thousand years ago. Qur'an 15 verse 9 says 'Verily, it is We who have sent down the Dhikr (Qur'an) and surely, We will guard it from (corruption)' See also some Qur'anic verses: Q.10 vs 37, Q.46 vs 10-12, Q.85 vs 21-22, Q. 4 vs 82 and Q.41 vs 42.Suffice to say the esteemed glorious Qur'an is a compendium of reformation for mankind physically, mentally and spiritually for those who allow it to administer their lives.
