Olympics ticket not a do-or-die -Eguavoen

NIGERIA'S U-23 team, Austin Eguavoen, says he is not under pressure to win a London 2012 Olympic men football ticket for the Dream Team V.The Atlanta 96 Olympics champion has been drawn against Morocco, Algeria and Senegal in Group B of a mini-tournament for places at the London 2012 football event but Eguavoen rates Nigeria's chances high.''We shall try and beat the others to win the Olympic slot, that is why we are here but I will not say it is the end of the world if the opposite happens,'' he told Tribunesports when asked of the consequences of his team failing to win a ticket.Eguavoen added that the task was uphill for the players, the coaching crew and the Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF) in view of the fact that the mini-tournament is not on FIFA-free days.''It is going to be a tough one, not only for us but for the other countries. Most U-23 teams the world over are for players in the top league, so that is the problem we have on our hands."''It will be difficult to go and scout for fresh players at the final phase of qualifying but like I said things will take shape soon,'' he said.
