NPFL Previews: Sharks visit Pillars, Enyimba host Gombe United

Hostilities resume at the Nigerian Professional Football League on Wednesday across various centers across the federation. Leaders Sharks visit holders Pillars in Kano, as Enyimba host Gombe Utd in Aba while Wolves host Bayelsa United in rescheduled Week 12 fixtures on WednesdayKANO PILLARS VS SHARKS - KanoThe reigning champions will be hoping to make it nine matches without a defeat when they welcome the Blue Angels in a top-table clash at the Kano Pillars Stadium on Wednesday.Kano Pillars left it late to snatch a 1-0 victory over Enyimba thanks to striker Gambo Mohammed to close-in on Sharks that lost their first game in their last eleven matches to FC Taraba.Coach Gbenga Ogunbote's side aim at stunning Okey Emordis men towards launching another unbeaten streak to preserve their leadership status.Hosts Kano Pillars are currently 3rd on the log with 25 points from 16 matches while Sharks have 30 points from 17 matches.NEMBE CITY VS NASARAWA UNITEDOmokuKala Ekulema's side would be desperate for another clinical home win when they welcome the Solid Miners at the Krisdera Township Stadium, Omoku.Nembe failed to turn-up for their Week 18 game at Giwa FC on Saturday and will aim at their fourth home win against Nasarawa United.The visitors have 27 points from 18 matches and are placed 2nd on the log while hosts Nembe City are at the base of the league table with 14 points from 16 matches.EL-KANEMI WARRIORS VS KADUNA UNITEDKano The Borno Armies would hope for the maximum points against the Crocodiles at the Kano Pillars Stadium in Kano on Wednesday to improve their poor league run-in.El-Kanemi Warriors come into this encounter with a 2-0 home win over Giwa FC, their only win in last their seven matches and will be hoping to better their pedigree before the mid-season.Visitors Kaduna United seek for their first away win of the season at fellow strugglers El-Kanemi Warriors to give their league survival a huge boost.The hosts have 20 points from 17 matches and are placed 16th with visiting Kaduna United on 18 points from 17 games.GIWA VS CROWN - EnuguThe Flying Antelopes will seek six points in a row with another home victory over the Markudi Bombers at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu on Sunday.Enugu Rangers earned a 1-0 home win over Kaduna United to jet out of the relegation zone and must win against Evans Ogenyi side to improve on their league rank.THe hosts have 21 points from 17 matches and are placed 15th, while Lobi Stars have 25 points from same matches to occupy the 7th spot.ENYIMBA VS GOMBE UNITED - AbaThe Peoples Elephants would fancy bouncing back to winning ways with all three points against the Savannah Scorpions at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Wednesday.On Sunday, Enyimba missed out on pulling off a point against Kano Pillars after striker Gambo Muhammed handed the title holders the maximum points.Visiting Gombe United also lost 2-1 at Abia Warriors on Sunday will be required to put up a strong fight to rescue their crashing league campaign at Aba.Enyimba are 4th on the NPL table with 25points from 17 matches, while visitors Gombe United are with 17 points from same number of matches.WARRI WOLVES VS BAYELSA UNITED - WarriPaul Aigboguns lads can make it two home wins on a bounce with victory over the Restoration boys at the Warri Township Stadium on Wednesday.Warri Wolves would seek to extend their unbeaten run to three since their draw at Gombe United and 1-0 home triumph over Nasarawa United on Sunday.Bayelsa United slumped in the seven-goal thriller in Benin and will hope to redeem their fast fading campaign.Visitors Bayelsa United are 17th with 20 points from 15 games, while hosts Warri Wolves have 25 pointsfrom 17 games.
