Turkish Airlines launches 'TourIstanbul' for transit passengers

...Etihad launches onboard residencyTurkish Airilines will at the Arabian Travel Market highlight its new travel package, 'TourIstanbul' for its international passengers. Speaking at the ongoing travel and hospitality expo, holding in Dubai, Senior Vice President, Media Realtions of the airline, Dr. Ali Genc said, "Turkish Air,ines is offering passengers the unique opportunity to discover the history, culture and cuisine of one of the world's most interestung cities, free-of-charge, in between two flights." Adding: "We are delighted that this initiative ofcers our world-class services not only up in the skies but i. streets of Istanbul, allowing passengers tomcreate lasting memories. 'TourIstanbul' underlines our commitment to 'Widen Your World'." The package is aimed at enabling passengers maximise their trips by offering them a complimentary adventure as they travel. Passengers traveling from Nigeria to any destination via the airline and have at least six hour transiting period will be able to visit the Blue Mosque, Serpentine Column, German Fountain and The Grand Covered Bazaar, amongst others. Speaking to our reporter at the ongoing Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, sales representative of the company, Mr. Osman Nurettin Sen, said, "There will be no added charges to cost of travel as a result of the package." He however pointed out that the service will be available on flights between 9.00 and 18.00 hours. "These hours are divided into three tour sections with specific destinations for each as well as meals served depending on what category a passenger falls under." Meanwhile, Etihad Airways in a bid to lure more luxury travellers has launched a $20, 000 flying hotel suite, The Residence, on the Dreamliner 787. The new A380 feature include the First Apartments, which are private suites with a separate reclining lounge seat and full-length bed, as well as a chilled mini-bar, personal vanity unit and wardrobe. It will also include the newly designed First Suite, which also includes new features such as a chilled mini-bar with both aircraft models including the Business Studio and Economy Smart Seat. These will feature the latest Panasonic eX3 entertainment system with more than 750 hours of entertainment and noise cancelling headsets.The UAE nstional carrier has 10 A380s aircraft on order, with the first set to go into operation on December 27 this year. The inaugural flight to London will contain 498 seats and the aircraft will be rolled out onto the New York, Melbourne and Sydney routes in due course.Each A380 will contain two 125 square foot residences, nine First Apartments and 70 Business Studios.Each Etihad A380 aircraft will also feature full mobile and Wi-Fi service, while the B787 will be equipped with Wi-Fi. Prayer areas which can be curtained off for privacy and are equipped with a real-time electronic Qibla-finder showing the exact direction of Makkah based on the aircraft's geographical position, will be installed for Muslim passengers.
