Sali emerges new Head of Service

PRESIDENTGoodluckJonathan has approved the appointment of Alhaji I. B. Sali as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, in Abuja, on Monday, said Alhaji Sali, who is currently a Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, was to take over from the incumbent, Professor Oladapo Afolabi.Afolabi is scheduled to proceed on retirement on Thursday, September 29.The outgoing Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Professor Afolabi, had, on September 8, 2011 transferred Sali to his office, perhaps to prepare him for his new job.Alhaji Sali, before his transfer to the Common Services Office in the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Power, where he championed and served as the secretary of the Power Reform Committee.Afolabi, from Oyo State, who was appointed as the Head of Civil Service of the Federation in November 2010, is due for retirement from the federal civil service.
