NHL-Lundqvist denies Kings as Rangers stay alive in Cup Finals

By Larry Fine NEW YORK, June 11 (Reuters) - Henrik Lundqvist showed his talent and resilience once again, coming up with a huge game to keep the New York Rangers alive in the Stanley Cup Finals after a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. Lundqvist saved 40 of 41 shots in the elimination game and denied the Kings a sweep of the best-of-seven NHL championship series as the Broadway Blueshirts reduced the deficit to 3-1 and sent the finals back to Los Angeles for Game Five on Friday. "We didn't want to see that Cup coming out on our home ice," said Lundqvist, serenaded time and again after acrobatic stops by a Madison Square Garden crowd of 18,000 that chanted his name. "Just the thought of it makes me feel sick." The Swede withstood an all-out assault on the net by the Kings in the third period as they outshot New York 15-1.
