Badary begins distribution of 112,000 mosquito nets

Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State has commenced the distribution of 112,000 Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLINs) to residents of the area.Speaking at the commencement of the exercise in Badagry, the council chairman, Mr Moses Husitode, called on beneficiaries to make use of the nets to check the scourge of malaria.He also said that the council had put in place strategies to ensure equitable distribution of the nets based on demand and logistics.Dr Oyetoyan Adeyanju, Medical Officer in the council, said each of the 20 wards in the council had between three and five distribution points while the exercise would end on Monday.`` Everybody who has a net card can go to any distribution point to redeem two nets,'' he added.The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the World Bank and partners in the Roll Back Malaria initiative were supporting the distribution exercise.
