Ibadan to host ITTF/PTT coaching course

THE ancient city of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, will host the International Table Tennis Federation (ITFF)/Para Table Tennis (PTT) level one coaching course from October 7 to 14, the organisers have announced.According to national table tennis coach, Nosiru Bello, Belarus' Aleskey Yefremov will conduct the course just as up to 30 coaches are expected to participate in the one-week training.Bello disclosed that the course is being organised by Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) for coaches drawn from states and clubs within the country. The level one coaching course is the first level officially recognised by ITTF and some of its requirements for being certified as a coach include attendance of 24-hour course and 10 minutes of practical presentation.According to the requirements, a 30-hour coaching practice must be completed after the course and the practice would be predominantly group coaching, which would benefit the table tennis community or junior/school groups.
