Idoko-Ijesa to celebrate Osun festival

The Idooko community in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State will tomorrow, host dignitaries from all walks of life as the annual Osun Festival is celebrated in the town.A statement by the chief host of the festival, Aare Sogo Agboola, the Osun festival will be celebrated in a grand style as this year's edition is billed to facilitate some community development projects in the town.Agboola said that apart from preserving the rich cultural heritage of the people, the Osun festival is a celebration that exhibits love, unity and peaceful co-existence among indigenes of the town.According to him, an ultra modern shrine, built for the Osun devotees would be commissioned by the Regent of the Idooko community, Princess Florence Ayoola Agboola.Speaking on the importance of the celebration, Agboola enthused that the Osun Idooko festival is a source of blessing, joy and protection for indigenes of the community both at home and abroad, as the Osun goddess shields them from all evils, adding that traditional rulers, community leaders and political functionaries from all parts of the country would grace the occasion.
