FORMER Super Eagles' coach, Christian Chukwu, says the task of beating the Syli National of Guinea in the decisive 2012 Nations Cup match in Abuja on October 8 is beyond the technical crew of the Nigerian team.Chukwu told Tribunesports in Lagos that from his experience, Guinea has proved to be a tough challenger to Nigeria on crucial occasions."The game against Guinea is the final lap and we must do everything humanly possible to win. We should not put pressure on Siasia and the team because this game is crucial. I want to plead with Nigerians on this. I believe the team will give us the result we need,'' said the Technical Consultant to newly-crowned Federation Cup winner, Heartland FC of Owerri. For leading the group so far, Chukwu said that Guinea had proved to be a top side and that the Eagles have a difficult game to handle."Guinea has a very good team, you cannot joke with them, we have to come out fully and give our team the necessary support to win the game and qualify for the Nations Cup," said the man who coached the Super Eagles to win the bronze at the 2004 Nations Cup in Tunisia.Being a member of the Technical Committee of the NFF, Chukwu added that Siasia's programmes for the match has been ratified and that Nigerians should only rally round the team. The Super Eagles with 10 points will on October 8 in Abuja face Syli Stars leading the group with 13 points, to see how they can turn the tables against the once dreaded side.Meanwhile,THE fact that Nigeria's Super Eagles will be playing a decisive 2012 Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea's Syli National in Abuja has only added to pressure on the Nigerian team, says Samson Siasia.Siasia, the Super Eagles head coach told sportwriters in Lagos that he would have prefered that the crucial game was played on away soil so as to lessen the burden of expectation on his team.''If the October 8 game was to be played outside Nigeria, I would have been more relaxed,'' he said.''It is always like that with big teams so any time the Super Eagles are playing at home especially on occasions like the one on October 8, we feel the pressure from different quarters.''To ease the pressure, Siasia hopes his team gets the goals as early as possible.''We have no other option than to win and it will just be better to score as early as possible so as not to send jitters down the spines of `home fans. We have to cope with what is ahead of us,'' he added.
