Painters Association urged to give back to community

THE National Painters Association ofNigeria, Oyo State wing has been advised to help rid the society and the community in which they operate of bad eggs so that Nigerians can live life devoid of criminals.Giving the advice was, the Chairman, Transition Monitoring Group (TMG),Comrade Mashood Erubami, who was the chairman of the occasion at the inauguration of the newly-elected executive officers and Merit Awards of the association at the headquarters of the association in Monatan, Ibadan, recently.According to Erubami, the association would help by ascertaining the true ownership of vehicles that are brought to their workshops for painting, saying that stories abound on how robbers colluded with some painters to change colours of stolen vehicles.He said stringent measures must be put in place to curb such development, while adding that he was sure that the Painters Association was a noble one.In his acceptance and maiden speech, the new chairman of the association, Alhaji Opeyemi Odeajo said he was grateful to all those who contributed to his emergence as the chairman of the association and promised to do his best to lift the association and its members to the highest height.The chairman noted further that he would ensure that the advice given them by the occasion's chairman would be taken with the utmost seriousness, while adding that the association would view that as its contribution to the community and the society in which they are operating.Apart from the chairman, others who were inaugurated included, the vice chairman, Otunba Bakare T.A., Mr. Abiodun Adeyemi, General Secretary, Alhaji Salisu, the Treasurer and Pastor Adekunle Alao, Financial Secretary of the association, among others.
