After repeatedly mocking Apple for ditching the iPhone headphone jack, Samsung is doing exactly the same thing

Samsung showed off its highly anticipated Galaxy Fold smartphone on Wednesday.The phone won't include a headphone jack, The Verge reports.Samsung previously made fun of Apple for getting rid of the headphone jack on the iPhone.Samsung's new foldable phone may be able to fold in the middle and possess six cameras (three on the front and three on the back), but it won't have a headphone jack, according to The Verge.Since 2016, the trend for jack-less phones has grown. Companies including Apple, Google, and Huawei have all released models without headphone jacks. It means owners either have to purchase wireless Bluetooth headphones or a lightning adapter.Apple was one of the first major phone brands to phase out headphone jacks with the release of the iPhone 7, three generations ago. In an ad campaign in 2017, the lack of jack was among a laundry list of iPhone quirks Samsung smirked at. It then repeated its line of attack in other ads last year.Now it seems Samsung has come around on the idea.Samsung revealed on Wednesday that the Galaxy Fold will cost $1,980 when it launches on April 26, but it won't have a slot for your headphones. At the same event, Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds, which will cost $130.The Fold won't be the jack-less phone that Samsung has brought out. In December 2018, it introduced the Galaxy A8, its first phone without a jack.
