Published by Tribune on Wed, 05 Oct 2011

ALL illegal structures erected on the Right-of- Way of the multi-billion naira Trans-Warri 'Ode-Itsekiri bridges and access road project are to be demolished with immediate effect to pave way for the smooth operation of construction worksThe Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, gave this directive at his palace when the project director, Mr Otimeyin Adams led the new Zonal Manager, Mr Zakhia and the Senior project manager, Mr Ellie Chidid, of the construction firm, Setraco, handling the project to his palace on a courtesy visit. The royal father who charged the construction firm on speedy completion of the project, also charged Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to be seen to be working and talking less, saying, 'this is the time of action', just as he called for the extension of the road network at Big-Warri of over seven kilometre.Earlier in his speech, Hon. Adams told the monarch that Setraco intended to move to Big-Warri to commence road construction and pleaded with him to appeal to the communities and youths in the various villages along the route to co-operate with the company to allow for a smooth operation, stressing that Setraco was not an oil prospecting company to be encumbered by every manner of communal demands capable of frustrating the good intention of Governor Uduaghan. He, whoever, assured that youths in the communities would be duly engaged as the job progresses to their area and solicited their understanding.Mr. Zakhia Alk then pleaded with the monarch to impress it on Governor Uduaghan the need to regularly and adequately fund the project, noting that is the only way the project would be completed on schedule.
