Guinea will clip Eagles' wings, says coach Dussuyer

Published by Guardian on Wed, 05 Oct 2011

COACH of Guinea's Syli Stars, Michel Dussuyer, says his team will give coach Samson Siasia and his Super Eagles a 'big surprise' in this weekend's all-important 2012 Nations Cup Group B decider in Abuja. On 13 points, the Syli Stars lead the group, three points better than the Super Eagles, who need to win the October 8 cracker by at least 1-0 to finish as group toppers and book a place in the 2012 championship to be jointly hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. However, Dussuyer said yesterday that the technical crew has taken time to study the Nigerians' pattern of play in the past few weeks, adding that he was not losing sleep over the match, having released his authentic list of players for the game last week.He insisted that Nigeria is beatable in Abuja: 'We have studied the team in and out and the conclusion is that the Nigerian team is beatable and we are going to do just that,' he said.'I have players who can deliver it and I don't have any fear in mind. The Eagles are under serious pressure to go top of the group, but we won't allow that to happen. We are going to shock the Eagles and their supporters in Abuja.'Dussuyer is banking on such players as Bah Diould Mamadou, who plays for VFB Stuttgart of Germany, Bald Dian Bobo of AC Arles Avignon of France, Diallo Sadio SC Bastia (France), Feindouno Pascal (FC Sion, Swiss), Constant Kevin (FC Genoa of Italy) and Sacko Mohamed (Denizlispor, Turkey), among others, to wreck the Eagles.Last week, former golden boy of Guinea football, Abuobacar Titi Camara, warned Nigeria that the Syli Stars were targeting an outright win in Abuja: 'We are not going to Nigeria to play for a draw,' he informed. 'I told the players after we beat Ethiopia that we need to win in Nigeria to be winners of the group.'So we will come to Abuja and we will play to win the match. My players have been well motivated for a win over the Nigerian team.
