Shina Peters, Wizkid, Nice, Olamide hold Ilorin, Abuja fans spell bound for MTN

TWO cities, Ilorin and Abuja, were agog recently when MTN Ten Cities Thank You Concert made a stop-over. The show, which was not only meant to thank its teeming loyal customers but also to excite them as it paraded an array of music stars to thrill the residents ensured that it was full fun for its customers.The concert which is to appreciate the company's customers for its role in the company's success as the leading telecommunication brand in Nigeria, especially as the outfit marks its tenth year in Nigeria, was one the residents who attended would not forget in a hurry.And the hall vibrated with all the razzmatazz of such shows for the hours the event lasted as the guests trouped in to enjoy themselves and close the week's work with the show.In Ilorin, as early as 4pm, many had queued up to enter the Roemichs Hall, the venue of the show. A deejay was also stationed outside the hall to dish out different songs to the admiration of people around and those commuting on the Muritala Muhammed Road, the venue of the event.Inside the hall, from 5.44 pm when the Deejay kicked off the show by playing songs that kept the crowd yearning for more, it was fun all the way. About an hour later, two compares came on board interacting with the audience including arousing them for a great show considering the lineup of big music stars that would play.The compere also embellished their talk with jokes that were occasionally greeted with applause from the audience. The compere thereafter introduced the home based upcoming singers with King Soul, the first to perform among other artistes that included two child artistes and a disabled, Moses Haziel. Haziel, the disabled act applauded MTN for creating a platform for him to perform with music stars.'I am really happy and elated that I was able to perform here tonight,' Haziel said.After the upcoming artistes played, Seyi Law came on board as the compare and he did well in ensuring that the crowd enjoyed themselves with good jokes before the MTN project fame products that included, Yetunde Omo Ibadan, Chidinma, Iyanya, took turn to perform and they all like the major stars of the night made the crowd had a nice time out. Then the big performers that included Sir Shina Peter, Adewale Ayuba, Kenny Brown, Olamide and Abolore Akande alias Nice raised the bar of the enthusiasm and entertained the guests till late in the night.Engineer Rasheed Oyedeji, who works with the Lower Basin Commission, told The Guardian that he enjoyed himself and never regretted coming for the show. He also said it was nice seeing Sir Shina Peters play live.'I enjoyed every bit of my time here especially when the stars performed.Another guest at the event, Mr. Shina Adejere said that he enjoyed himself that he had to call his wife that he would be staying out late than normal because he only planned to stay for few minutes but after spending over 30 minutes, it was like he should not leave until the show is over.In Ilorin, commenting on the programme, The Assistant Manager, Event and Sponsorship, MTN, Mr. Joseph Ogbuka said that the concert is one leg of the MTN ten cities thank you concerts as it marks ten years in Nigeria. He stated that before the Ilorin concert, about five other locations had experience the excitement of interacting with their music stars courtesy of MTN.
