Don't politicise electoral process, Ogun NURTW urges members

Members of theNational Unionof Road Transport Workers, Ogun State Council, have been urged not to politicise the electoral process that will usher in new executive members of the union in the best interest of all.A statement issued at the end of its monthly general meeting and signed by the State Secretary of the Union, Comrade Adeyemi Raymond, made available to Community News noted that, following the directive of the National President of the union, Alhaji Najeem Yasin, all members were free to contest for any elective post provided such an aspirant had fulfilled the requirement of the union as stated in its constitution.Comrade Raymond advised its members against any action that could hinder the smooth conduct of the election, urging them to be wary of non- members who might be interested in disrupting the election.He advised members of the union to disregard any unfounded rumour doing the round that there was crisis within the union.'The council has put necessary machinery in place to ensure the success of the election. I implored all our members to disregard any rumour that there is crisis within the union.'We advised members against any action that can hinder the peaceful transition process and also to be wary of non-members who may want to politicize the union's election process,' he added.
