Sokoto LG engages town criers on immunisation

Isa Local GovernmentArea of Sokoto State,has engaged the services of town criers in sensitising the populace on the need to allow their children to be immunised.Alhaji Umar Mohammad, Chairman of the council, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the measures would enable the people to play active roles in the exercise.He said the local administration would do everything possible to educate the people on how to eradicate the six killer diseases in the area."Our primary targets are markets and public gatherings so that they can educate our people on dangers of not allowing their children to be immunised."He explained that religious and traditional rulers had also been contacted to help in mobilising their people towards the exercise.Mohammad called for active participation of stakeholders in promoting health care services in the area.
