DETERMINED toensure that people of his constituency have unhindered access to drinking water, a member of House of Representatives, elected on the ticket of Accord Party (AP), Honourable Busari Kayode Muritala, has donated solar-powered boreholes, for people's use.Towns and villages in Oyo State to benefit from the newly commissioned boreholes include, Orogun, Omoluabi, Mosolape area, all in ward eight of Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. Other communities include, Olosaoko, Sagbe/Pabi-Ekun, Apatere, Fakeye, Olalere, Olunlosin, Ogunranti, Ogunwale, as well as other neighbouring villages.At the commissioning of one of the boreholes sunk at the Orogun community, the federal lawmaker told hundreds of residents of the area who trooped out en-masse to welcome him and other stalwarts of Accord Party in the state, including the leader of the party and former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, that the borehole was one of the many electoral promises made to the people during the party's campaigns.According to Honourable Busari Kayode Muritala, 'there was an agreement with the people of this community that they shall reap dividends of democracy. We made promises before and during the elections that we are going to be reliable representatives, different from others who would only come to the people before election to solicit for their votes and support only to abandon them and not fulfill those promises made after the election, especially once they got to office.'We are providing potable water for our people because we don't want any outbreak of cholera, typhoid fever, dysentery and other water-borne diseases as well as prevent other diseases that could be a threat to public health. We shall still do more, it is our responsibility as true representatives of the people at the grass roots. It is also one of our many constituency projects and dividends of democracy that people should enjoy,' he stated.The constituency projects inauguration train of the lawmaker in the company of Senator Rasheed Ladoja and other members of the Accord Party in Oyo State also visited villages like Olosaoko, Ogunranti, Ogunwale, Apatere and other communities in both Akinyele and Lagelu Federal Constituency of Oyo State.At Ogunwale village in Lagelu Local Government Council, the leader of the Accord Partyin Oyo State and the Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadan land, Chief Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja told the people that it was the major responsibility of the government to provide essential amenities and other basic physical infrastructures for the people at the grassroots. 'But many of our leaders are not living up to expectations and that is why there is no development at the grassroots. I, hereby, encouraged politicians, most importantly, political office holders, to provide dividends of democracy for people living at the less developed cities,' he advised.
