Published by Tribune on Thu, 06 Oct 2011

People ofModakeke inOsun State, have protested their alleged marginalisation by the present administration in the state. The community which expressed disappointment on the way and manner they were not considered for any position by the Aregbesola led administration in the state, described the development as unfair and wicked.Speaking under the aegis of Modakeke Concern Citizens in a release signed by its Chairman, Comrade Adedire Adufe, affirmed that majority of them campaigned and voted for this present administration before its emergence and condemned how they were deliberately being outsmarted in the scheme of things. The protest letter which further frowned at the high posture of the present administration in the state, added that 'despite the fact that the appeal tribunal only recognized Modakeke votes for this present administration out of Ife Central, South and East. The question now is what has it earned us''Where are we coming from' Where are we going' It is a pity. We are in trouble on every side. Our votes since 2007 elections earned us nothing, rather those who refused to vote for them are now having everything to themselves.'They complained that every position like senatorial, legislative, special advisers, commissioners and so on were given to those who had not in any way contributed to the enthronement of the present administration in the state.Comrade Adufe, however, called on all traditional leaders to henceforth stop from acting as a coach to any political party but should serve as referees among all parties. He also appealed to Governor Aregbesola to briskly act on the matter and right all wrongs in the interest of the state development.
