THE Lagos State Commissioner for Sports, Enitan Oshodi, is among the dignitaries expected at the finals of the 2011 Nigeria Bankers Games holding on Sunday at the UNILAG Sports Complex.According to the Managing Director of MediaVision Limited, which organises the Games, Fela Bank-Olemo, the commissioner will lead a train of other dignitaries, including chief executives of Skye and Fidelity banks, to the event.'We are glad to announce that the Commissioner for Sports in Lagos State has graciously accepted to be the special guest at the finals and he will take the final kick-off and play a major role during the awards and presentations at the end of the match,' he explained.According to him, MediaVision has extended invitation to all stakeholders, including the Lagos State Football Association, in recognition of its roles as regulatory agency for sports and football in the state. Bank-Olemoh added that the leadership of the two banks that are playing in the finals was expected to lead their supporters to cheer their players to victory.'Though we expect a full house from the banks, MediaVision recognises the importance of the regulatory authorities for sports and football in the state and we expect that their presence will be a boost to private sector participation in football organisation as well as promote public-private partnership in the development of sports,' he added.Skye Bank and Fidelity Bank are the 2011 Nigeria Bankers Games finalists following their semi-finals victories against UBA and Standard Chartered Bank respectively. UBA won the last two editions of the tournament but lost 0-2 to Skye Bank in the semi-final of the competition last Sunday.
