Insecurity threatens education system, says Dairo

THE Certified Board of Administrators of Nigeria (CBAN) has decried the insecurity problems across the country, saying they were posing a big threat to educational development .The President of Certified Board of Administrators of Nigeria, Prof. Gbolahan Dairo, who made the remark at the induction and conferment of fellowship of on members of CBAN in Lagos recently, said the threat made by an Islamic sect, Boko Haram to attack institutions of higher learning in the country was capable of heightening tensions and derailing the system.Dairo, however urged the governments at all levels to address the issues immediately and save the country from collapse, adding that after 50 years of independence, what Nigeria needs now 'is how to fix our decayed infrastructure and not how to destroy it.'He charged the new fellows and other inductees, including, the Chairman, Ilorin South Local Government Area, Kwara State, Dr. Abubakar Ishola, who was conferred with a Fellowship Award, to exhibit good character in the discharge of their responsibilities.In his address at the occasion, Ishola, charged educational institutions and other relevant agencies in the country to rejig the institutions, to enhance productivity.He said: 'The workplace and the workforce are changing in a dramatic fashion. Administrators in both the public and private sectors of the economy, are now, more than ever before in our history, almost in dire strait.
