Mikel dares Siasia, says he won't pay fine ' I'm fit for the game -Osaze

Published by Tribune on Fri, 07 Oct 2011

JOHN Mikel Obi has said he will not pay a fine of $5,000 for reporting late to the Nigeria training camp.Mikel arrived Abuja early morning on Wednesday instead of a Tuesday 12 midnight deadline set by the team. However, the player denied knowledge of the sanction against him."I don't know anything about that and they haven't told me I have been fined," he told mtnfootball.com.When asked whether he would pay the fine if asked to, Mikel replied, "No, no I don't think so because I did not do anything wrong. I have reported to the camp and I have very, very genuine reason. If the manager (Samson Siasia) would tell Nigerians my reason, anyone in that situation will reason with me."Mikel is believed to have gone to Jos, northcentral Nigeria, to visit his father, who was recently freed by the police from a gang of kidnappers.Meanwhile,SUPER Eagles attacker, Osaze Odemwingie says he is fit for tomorrow's 2012 Africa Nation's Cup qualifier against Guinea.Odemwingie has not played for Nigeria since falling out with Coach, Samson Siasia after the Super Eagles' Afcon qualifier against Ethiopia in March. After mending fences with Siasia, the West Bromwich Albion forward was invited for Nigeria's double header against Madagascar and Argentina in September. An ankle injury however saw the forward miss the game, however insists he is fit for the game against Guinea on Saturday.'I'm fit; no injury. I have played the full 90 minutes in the last four matches for my club in England so I am in great condition to face Guinea,' Odemwingie told SuperSport.com.
