Paramilitary group donates relief materials to flood victims

A humanitarian andparamilitaryorganisation, the Paragon Chaplain Humanitarian Mission (PCHM), has donated relief materials worth thousands of naira and cash to the August 26 flood victims in Ibadan, Oyo State.The non-governmental organisation (NGO) also donated relief materials to the authorities of the Ibadan South-West Local Government for onward delivery to other victims which it could not reach during its visit to the local government.The Vice-President/Commanding Officer General (COG) of Chaplain Humanitarian Mission, Ayodele Joseph Oshin, who led other officers of the group to the local government office at the Town Planning road, Ring Road, Ibadan, explained that they decided to identify with the suffering and plight of the flood disaster victims, stressing that as a humanitarian and paramilitary organisation, they could not fold their arms and watch fellow human beings suffering.After the visit of the chaplains to the council and presentation of cash and other relief materials to the Caretaker Chairman of the council, Honourable Taoheed Bolaji Adeleke, for onward delivery to the flood victims in various communities in the council, the caretaker chairman, in the company of other senior officials of the council led the visitors to donate the materials to some victims of the flood who were invited to the council to receive the relief materials themselves.The Director of Media and Publicity of Chaplains, Dr Emmanuel Akinsola, after the programme, told newsmen that it would be good if other non-governmental organisations in the country and private individuals, as well as corporate organisations could lend a helping hand to the flood victims, stressing that the August 26 flood disaster in Ibadan was a disaster nobody expected.
