Phase Out Tokunbo Tyres, Expert Urges Govt

PRODUCT Manager of Milan Nigeria Limited, manufacturer of MRF tyres, including Milan Radials, Mr M.K. Vinod, has called for the phasing out of second-hand (also known as tokunbo) tyres. This, he said, would help to reduce auto accidents and related consequences such as traffic jams.He noted that most tokunbo tyres expire before they are brought into the country and purchased by users, wondering how long people will continue to subject themselves to risk of accidents by patronising tokunbo dealers. He, however, called on buyers to be cautious of the expiring status of new products, as it is possible for them to have expired in shops.Vinod said his company is known for quality tyres and that it gives four years guarantee on all its productsAccording to him, Milan has decided to partner with interested corporate organisations on best approaches to securing tyres, just as he revealed that it would launch another product next month.
