Globacom to establish 300 Glo zones in two years

TELECOMMUNICATIONS giant, Globacom, will commission 300 special customer-focused service centres referred to as Glo zones over the next two years, according to the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Mohammed Jameel.Jameel made this known at the formal unveiling of a Glo zone package at Kwanar Dangora, about 60 kilometres away from the Kano metropolis.He disclosed that six other Glo zones have already been commissioned in the pilot phase at separate locations in the northern part of the country.Jameel further stated that fifty other Glo zones would be opened over the next two months in several parts of the country.Stating that Glo zone is a unique customer 'connect centre targeted at its subscribers across the country, he explained that the Glo zone shops which will be operated by private entrepreneurs will provide services like information on Glo products and services, purchase of products such as Sims and recharge cards and activation of value added services obtainable at Gloworld shops nationwide.Listing the benefits of the initiative, he noted: 'This new development presents a win 'win situation for all the stakeholders of Globacom across the country. For the current subscribers and others who wish to join the network, the opportunity of having a shop providing a whole array of Glo products and services near them is most desirable.'For the budding operators of the individual Glo zone, it is an avenue to make an impact in their community and grow a profitable business in partnership with a proudly Nigerian brand.'For us in Globacom, the Glo zone concept presents a quicker opportunity for delivering Glo products and services in a less capital intensive manner. The Glo zones are conceived and delivered by Globacom to the franchisees, which are making a minimal deposit as investment security as part of the criteria for selection.
