Abductors of Kaduna ECWA Pastor, 16 others contact church

Abductors of a senior Pastor of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Dankade in Igabi local government area of Kaduna State, Rev. Zakariah Ido and 16 members of the church have contacted the church and confirmed being in possession of the abductees.Rev. Ido, his daughter and 15 other members were kidnapped during the church service on Sunday.Zaria DCC Secretary of the church, Rev Nath Waziri, who disclosed the incident on Sunday night, said the gun- bearing kidnappers took away them away from the church.According to him: It is sad to inform you that one of our pastors, his daughter and 15 other members of ECWA Church Dankade were kidnapped in the early hours of today.The church hosted a combined choir fellowship Saturday night to early hours of today. Then, this morning (Sunday), kidnappers stormed the church.When the gunmen came, they asked everyone in the church to surrender his or her phones and demanded the whereabouts of the pastor.After threatening the choristers they became afraid and showed them the pastor home.They took him away and his daughter with 15 others amongst which there is the son of the pastor of Assemblies of God Church.Rev. Waziri said most of the people kidnappers were young ladies, a young man and two elders of the church.READ ALSO:ECWA Pastor, daughter, 15 others kidnapped in KadunaHowever, almost 30 hours after the kidnap of the worshippers, the kidnappers were said to have contacted the church.Waziri, who confirmed the development to our correspondent Monday evening said: Yes, the kidnappers have contacted the church. But they have not made any demand for ransom or any other thing.They called this afternoon, and they confirmed having the Pastor and other people with them but along the line they ended the call and we tried calling them back but we couldnt reach them.This afternoon, we were at the church where they were abducted to hold and prayer session for their safe release.And we are trusting God that, they will soon be released unhurt.However, Kaduna State Police Command has remained silent on the matter, as calls put through to its spokesman, DSP Yakubu Sabo were not responded to.
