On The Fulanisation Agenda By Egbeolowo Ridwan

Published by Sahara Reporters on Mon, 27 May 2019

It would have sounded unpleasant to the ears of they that heard TY Danjuma the day he said, "one thing we should know is that these generals including Buhari knows the problem of the country ranging from terrorism to the least problem we are faced. It's a pity that these people believe they can't create a future they won't live in". I must confess that I am in consensus ad idem with Danjuma's assertion. Danjuma may be a politician, or among those who mortgaged the future of this country, but the fact remains that his thought on that issue is nothing but a force to reckon with. The same way Obasanjo issued a statement on Buhari's FULANISATION agenda. The annoying part may be that the same set of people who destroyed the very fabric of this nation are the one tackling each other like water and fire. Both Obasanjo, Buhari, Danjuma are like Tweedledum and Tweedledee; They are birds of a feather. I remember vividly that FFK once said Buhari was planning to Islamise Nigeria, many called for his head. Only if they had seen what he saw then, they wouldn't have allowed such an evil agenda to come into existence not to talk of coming to pass. Besides, What baffles me most is that this nepotistic murderous and blatantly corrupt regime doesn't even do much to hide it. I'm not Igbo but how can the presidency tag a whole tribe terrorist while those marauding Fulani herdsmen are protected and enabled. An unarmed and fearless indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB) was declared a terrorist organization by the almighty Federal government before one could pronounce N. I. G. E. R. I. A. what an irony of life! Whether the latest development on Buhari's fulanisation agenda is real or not, his modus operandi has made it audible to the deaf and visible to the blind that he is an ethnic bigot whose common sense has been shattered by tribalism, nepotism, favoritism, and cabalocracy. One would wonder why the Buhari- led administration is flooded by his kinsmen. That alone speaks volumes and shows the fact that we have employed a tribalistic fellow to manage the affairs of this nation... The only solution to avoid a repeat of the mistake we now have as president is to look beyond political horse trading and do everything possible to vote for a candidate whose passion for the masses is second to none. A leader who understands the principle of federal character. Not a leader who will further divide us.In other hands, we the masses have chosen to throw reasonability to the wind. For how long are we going to sit on the fence' For how long are we going to be docile' The most worrisome aspect about our docility is that " We keep voting for the same set of people who could not liberate us from economic baptism from 1960 to date. after all, Chinua Achebe had it right when he said, " a man who does not know where the rain started to beat him cannot say where he dried his body. The rain that beat Nigeria began more than a decade ago, from the resolutions of the Berlin conference of 1884/1885 to the economic-driven amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates of Nigeria in 1914 by Lord Lugard. Truth be told, The primary aim of the British in amalgamating the northern and the southern protectorates in Nigeria was simply economic. The amalgamation was nothing but a fraud, which is a blatant attack on our sensibilities. This is one of the reasons why I said Nigeria never existed in the first place. As far as reality is concerned, Nigeria can never work as a nation. The foundation has been destroyed already, so there is virtually nothing the righteous can do. From premature independence to the economically driven amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates. So it is just sad that our leaders are complicating issues by shying away from their responsibility. One would wonder that, with the way everything is going in this country, our leaders are still nagging over irrelevant issues that cannot in any way contribute to the development of this country. What a misplaced priority! This is a call to sober reflection as it would interest my readers that I am also a victim of this mess created by the same set of people we have at the helm of affairs today.I just pray one day all youths in Nigeria will understand that no politician right now is working in their interest.. whether APC or PDP.EGBEOLOWO RIDWAN IS A GRADUATE OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION/POLITICAL SCIENCE.
