Sir Olateru Olagbegi Tennis tourney begins today

THE best of tennis will be on display from today till Wednesday as Sir Olateru Olagbegi Tennis Championship begins in Akure.The competition, put together by the sons of the late monarch, will see top Nigerian players vying for honour in the three-day event while kids will also be taken through the rudiments of the game.According to some of the organisers, Prince Adesola and Kunle Olateru-Olagbegi, the event is being resuscitated to help discover talents, who would go on to become national and world stars. They also said that he came together with his siblings to continue the tennis legacy laid down by their father..'What we intend to do is a determined effort to continue the tennis legacy laid down by our father by sponsoring the Sir Olateru Olagbegi Tennis Invitational,' they said. 'The championship will not only resuscitate the game in Nigeria, it will encourage competition among the best in the game.
